Η Rie Cramer (1887-1977)  ήταν πολυτάλαντη: συγγραφέας, εικονογράφος - και ειδικά παιδικών βιβλίων, ποιήτρια.... Ιδιαίτερα γνωστές είναι οι εικόνες της για τη συλλογή των παραμυθιών του Hans Christian Andersen καθώς και για τη συλλογή των παραμυθιών των αδελφών Grimm. Το στυλ της Cramer είναι αντίστοιχο του νέου- τότε- ρεύματος της Art Nouveau και ορίζεται από καθαρές γραμμές, χρώματα χωρίς ιδιαίτερες διαβαθμίσεις, αποχρώσεις του κίτρινου, θεματολογία από παραμύθια και μύθους. Διακρίνονται και κάποιες σχέσεις με το στυλ των Προ-Ραφαηλικών αν και η τέχνη της Cramer είναι γραφιστική

Rie Cramer (1887-1997) had many talents: writer, illustrator - of children's books in particular, poet... Well known are her drawings for the fairytales of Hans Christian Andersen and the fairytales of the Grimm brothers. Cramer's style is relating to the new-then- movement of Art Nouveau and is defined by clear lines, colours with no particular gradations, shades of yellow-and other earthly colours, themes inspired by tales and myths. We could also detect some kind of link with the style of the Pre-Raphaelites...
